Description:  Students will learn how to organize their time and set goals.  Specific exercises will be learned and demonstrated to help maximize practice benefits.

PT005 - Jazz Voicings for Guitar
Guitar
Description:  This course serves as an in-depth performance study of basic chord voicings used by all great jazz guitarists.  Practice methods will be learned to help facilitate the application of these techniques.

PT006 – Walking Lines Level 1
Bass
Description: Students will learn how to walk a bass line over standard jazz chord progressions. Fundamental techniques used by all great bassists will be taught.  Students will play music the majority of time in each class.

PT007 – Walking Lines Level 2
(Pre-requisite: PT006)
Bass
Description: Students will learn how to walk a bass line over standard jazz chord progressions.  This lab is a continuation of Walking Lines Level 1.  Students will play music the majority of time in each class.

PT008 – Walking Lines Level 3
(Pre-requisite: PT007)
Bass
Description: Advanced techniques for playing walking lines over a variety of jazz style chord progressions.  Students will play music the majority of time in each class.

PT009 – Technique Builder 1
All Instruments
Description: This playing lab will focus on developing fluency with scales, arpeggios, and basic melodic shapes in ALL keys.  By using play-alongs you will be able to duplicate our practice routines on your own.

PT010 – Technique Builder 2
(Pre-requisite: PT009)
All Instruments
Description: Open to all instruments, this playing lab will focus on developing speed, stamina, and dexterity through intense workouts in ALL keys. By using play-alongs you will be able to duplicate our practice routines on your own.

PT011 – Transcription Lab
All Instruments
Description: Various techniques and procedures for efficient and effect transcription will be learned.  Students will be required to learn and perform short transcriptions from great players.  Each student will transcribe and perform from memory for the class.

Description: Practice and performance of slap and tap style music. Technique and facility will be developed using exercises and play-alongs.
